Esperanza: An organization providing “hope” to a community in need

While searching for a topic to write about this week, I was able to stumble upon a business that is close to my home and that deals with an issue that is close to my heart. Esperanza is an organization that is located in Cleveland, Ohio and has a heart for the United State’s Hispanic population. They are a non-profit organization that presents a number of offerings to local Hispanics and there families. Some of these offerings include youth leadership programs, mentorships for youth and young adults, adult leadership programs, and academic programs for Hispanics of all ages. The fact that this organization has an emphasis on education is a very redemptive idea. Being educated while also having people who are pouring into you something that is so core to the Bible. Having people that are pouring into you and giving them an education that allows them to grow in the love and knowledge of the Lord is very vital. Some of their main means of funding I was able to find is by donations and people pouring their time into helping their ministry. Esperanza translates to “hope” in English, and that is something that this organization has always strived to provide. They were founded in the 1980s and set out with the mission to be of assistance and provide financial assistance to the local Hispanic population in any way that they are able. The words and heart behind them have such a Christ-centered heart posture that is very obvious.
That’s so cool, Josh. Maybe you can work for them in the future!
