Working for a Christian company

Throughout the class, I’ve enjoyed listening to the companies that are faith based and have a Christian worldview when it comes to work. I think it’s really cool, especially as a Christian, that there are Christian companies out in the world, but they get little attention and you don’t hear about them often. It’s hard to find a Christian company to work for but if you do find one, it is very beneficial. I’ve had the privilege of working for the company STL services. The owner, who is my friend’s dad, is a devout Christian in fact the name STL means shine the light. The owner Shaun chose his name because he wanted to shine the light of Jesus. The past two years working there I realize that working for a Christian company is highly beneficial to myself and to those who we serve. Not only did Shaun teach me how to put down epoxy on floors, but he also helped me show love to those around us. That is not something that we can take for granted. Working for a company like STL is like evangelism itself. I get to go out to peoples houses and fix their garage floors while also sharing the gospel. The way the conversation usually goes is that they would ask what STL stands for. I get to tell them that it means shine the light of Jesus and that sparks a conversation about faith. Even if the customer doesn’t ask about the name, they are still experiencing the gospel and how me and my other coworkers and our boss interact with each other and love each other like we are called to do. Overall, I think working for Christian company is an awesome experience and if you have the opportunity to do it, I highly recommend it.
