Travis Pastrana – Giving back to sports

Travis Pastrana is one of those people who seems wired for motion from the moment he wakes up. He is a professional motorsports athlete and stunt performer best known for pushing the limits in freestyle motocross rally racing and NASCAR while racking up multiple X Games gold medals along the way. Born in 1983 in Annapolis Maryland he grew up around the military thanks to his dad service and started doing wild bike stunts as a young teenager before turning that passion into a full blown career.

What really stands out though is how he uses that platform to lift other people up especially those connected to the military and the action sports community. He has spent years supporting service members by visiting injured troops through USO events and similar trips where he shows up in person to hang out talk and bring some energy to people who are in tough recovery seasons. He has also supported efforts like Bikes Over Baghdad and has even invited veterans out to his own place so they can ride four wheelers try out ramps and just feel the thrill that got him hooked on motorsports in the first place.

On top of that Travis has backed charitable work around injured athletes and safety in action sports including efforts tied to the Travis Pastrana Foundation which focuses on supporting athletes who get hurt and promoting safer ways to chase big tricks and big dreams. He keeps giving back to his hometown scene too helping grow the next generation of riders and keeping the sport that shaped his life accessible and exciting for kids coming up behind him. Travis Pastrana is more than a daredevil doing backflips for cameras. He is a driven competitor a creative risk taker and someone who has chosen to turn his success into opportunities for service members veterans injured athletes and young riders who see themselves in his story.
