Peter Demos, Redemptive Restaurants

Despite growing up in the restaurant business, Peter Demos started off his career as a lawyer, but he quickly felt called back to the restaurant business that he knew and loved. After successfully running a restaurant for 12 years, Demos became a Christian. Over time he became the owner of four Demos Restaurants and two PDK Southern Kitchens as well as a respected author, speaker, and owner of a dozen entities. Peter Demos runs his businesses with the intention of glorifying God. He shows this through intently listening to the feedback of his many employees through a monthly review process where employees can send in any feedback, information, or criticism they might want to share as well as a prayer board any employee can post on. Peter Demos states “I carefully review and respond to the needs expressed by my employees.” He has also shown care for his employees in other ways such as purchasing bikes for his employees that were financially unfortunate enough to have to walk to work. Demos works hard to ensure hospitality and excellence is provided for his customers as well. Demos has stated he does not consider himself the managing director of his businesses, God is. He also puts much effort into spreading the gospel through his businesses. As he puts it “We can sit there and talk about all the nice, good stuff we do, but if we don’t share the gospel? Jesus calls that wicked. So we make sure that in our business, we try to through boldness.” Peter Demos is an example of real redemptive entrepreneurship in action through quality restaurants that treat both customers and employees well, as well as a focus on spreading the gospel through his businesses.
