Our Redemptive Idea

In my group with Hezekiah, Tessa, and Ben we have created a company called Silver Circle. In this, we hope to bring the love of Christ to the elderly through kindness and communication with them. This idea really started in my head through my relationship with my good friend Willis. I met him my freshman year through some of my friends and have grown in friendship with him during my time here in college. Starting as a simple bible study on Mondays, I began to go over to his house to hang out with him and his wife. I would ask about his grandkids, his career, and just be an open ear to what he had to say. Through this, I began to see how much of an impact this had on his life. Being able to be in conversation regularly with someone who wasn’t family was thrilling to him.

This story with Willis was one of the key drivers of silver circle. Creating an environment where more college students can be in communion with the elderly is what we are trying to do. Not only to bring kindness to the families, but also to decrease the risk of Dementia in these people. When the elderly are talking to people, this continues to work their fine motor skills and sharpen their minds. This is crucial to having them live longer. On the topic of our revenue stream, I am not exactly sure how we would get money as we are not going to charge the elderly for simply talking to them. We have been thinking about a more donation-based strategy for the revenue stream which would include people giving money for the cause. I am grateful for my time with Willis as this has been the main driver for silver circle.

  • I think this is a fantastic idea Jordan. I know a ton of elderly people that would absolutely love to have a connection with someone to talk about their life, experiences, careers, and even the Bible. I can see the redemptive impact that Silver Circle would have on the lives of a ton of people all around the world! Thank you for sharing your group's idea.

  • I'm so grateful you shared this story—it really puts into perspective the heart behind Silver Circle. It's been such a privilege to work on this with you, Hezekiah, and Ben. Seeing how your relationship with Willis sparked this whole idea makes it even more meaningful, and I’m excited to see how God continues to use this to bless others.
