Demario Davis, a New Orleans Saints linebacker, has used his platform to bring glory to God and help those in need. He is a football player, Christian, and entrepreneur. It all started when he was fined for wearing a headband that said “Man of God.” He has been wearing this headband for a few games and then one game he gave a speech that went viral. The NFL realized that he had been wearing a headband with a personal message on it which is a uniform violation. This violation just happened to state “Man of God.” In this sense, the NFL may seem anti religion but the same would happen for any player wearing any personal message. In fact, Davis was able to appeal the fine and he won the appeal. His $7,000 fine was waved and this money was donated to Saint Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi near Davis’ hometown. In addition to this $7,000 donation, Davis started selling these headbands with a company called sleefs. These sales and donations had quickly totaled to $120,000, and have since grown another $10,000. All the proceeds from the headband are donated directly to Saint Dominic Hospital for a new emergency room. Davis has used his platform to help those that are less fortunate. In 2018, Davis founded the Devoted Dreamers Foundation with his wife, Tamela. The goal is to the equip the next generation of leaders with the tools to be successful spiritually, mentally, and physically. He is able to bring a true gospel experience to youth and young adults in his hometown. This is designed to usher young men and women into the presence of the lord. So in all, Demario Davis is just one man that uses his platform to have a lasting kingdom impact and he is one of very few athletes to do this so he is a entrepreneur in his field.
