“Quarantine has made church outreach much harder.”
Really?
This is probably the greatest opportunity for the spread of Christianity in the history of mankind. Virtually EVERYONE is on the internet (no pun intended).
I actually discovered him while browsing through TikTok one day. He posts regularly on the platform, and has 833.6K followers as of today. His content is engaging and family-friendly. At the end of every post, he plays an audio clip of himself saying “Amen.” He does something similar for his content on Instagram.
But I eventually lost him in the sea of other TikTok content. Recently, I re-discovered him through a friend who was following an account of his on Instagram called “instachurchlive”. He holds live worship services every Sunday and Wednesday on that platform, and very recently extended these services into Twitch (a video game streaming platform), YouTube Live, Facebook Live, and even TikTok Live.
Alex Wilson is the perfect example of how to properly contextualize Christianity – specifically worship – into new platforms where young people congregate. Not only has he brought the ability to worship to those who just didn’t want to come to a physical building before; now he has made available the ability to worship for people who are at home due to quarantine (EVERYONE).
I highly encourage you to check out his content, and leave him a follow on your platform of choice! And if you can, support him in his mission. He’s accepting donations to keep his services and content creation going. You can do that by clicking here.
Stay safe. Have a great week. Thanks for reading. 🙂
