Finanta

Often, when we think of redemptive work, we automatically go to missions, nonprofits, or direct acts of service. All of those things are truly amazing and very redemptive, but there is so much more to redemptive work than just those things. Finanta is a great example of redemptive work that doesn’t fall under that immediate umbrella. Finanta doesn’t restore from giving stuff away but rather by the way they steward what the Lord has given them.

Finanta is a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), which means it is meant to provide financial access to individuals and communities that traditional banks often overlook. This isn’t just about giving loans, but it is much more than that. It is about restoring opportunity, dignity, and long-term sustainability through business.

At the core of Finanta, it centers itself around the belief: when people are given the right tools, they can build something meaningful not just for themselves, but for their families to overcome. Finanta is doing this in multiple communities across PA with many major cities including: Lancaster, Philadelphia, Reading, Harrisburg, Allentown, and York.

The traditional investment systems often favor those who already have resources, strong credit, and established networks. This makes it tremendously difficult for aspiring entrepreneurs in low-income or underserved communities. This creates a barrier for the lower class when trying to reach their goal or achieve their vision.

Finanta can take away that barrier for so many by offering small business loans, financial coaching, and technical assistance. FInanta is just giving out money to whoever wants it but rather investing in people. They walk along side these individuals and help them through many stages of the business.

By Finanta being able to help individuals who often don’t see an opportunity to become entrepreneurs, it does more than just build more companies. It helps individuals provide more for their families and bring more out of the underserved and lower-class communities. And even though they are not directly sharing their faith through this process, God’s work can be seen through the redemptive nature of the work Finanta can do in so many people’s lives.
