Entrepreneurship is the Mission of this Church

Church brings people of all kinds together. Scripture makes it clear that a church can consist of any mix of people, but that it is Christ that brings us together. When the institution of the church started meeting together in places like Thessalonica and Colossae, there was only one church in town. A Christian had to bear with his brothers and sisters in Christ in order to maintain a connection to the body. In America, since we often have several churches all within a ten minute drive of one another, we get to choose our congregation more carefully. For example, if we feel especially called to missions, we can join a church with a missional focus, or even align with a missional denomination (eg. Christian Missionary Alliance). This choice can lead to disunity in greater Body, but it can also bring like-minded people together beyond just Christ. That is exactly what Church for Entrepreneurs does.

Church for Entrepreneurs is a “church without walls” that seeks to teach and equip Christians with a conservative, biblical worldview integrated with entrepreneurship. While it doesn’t seem like the community of believers that Scripture calls us to be a part of, it’s a great supplement to any entrepreneurial believer’s spiritual community. All of the teaching is based on the Word of God, but entrepreneurial themes are intertwined with the Gospel truth. The messages and podcasts that the church put out are excellent resources for the spiritual formation of the entrepreneur specifically. They also have four, day-long meetings throughout the year in Atlanta where they have all kinds of workshops and guest speakers. Overall, this ministry is doing a great job of finding a niche group, bringing them together in online community, and encouraging them to continue to grow as Christians and as young professionals. It is amazing to see how this unity creates such an amazing environment of encouragement, constructive criticism, and growth.
