It’s more than likely that when reading the title of this blog post you thought of Chick Filae, a Christian organization that is known for its chicken. However, Tyson is founded on the same principles. Tyson is one of the worlds largest and most known chicken companies, most frequently recognized for their frozen chicken nuggets. It is known that Tyson seeks to serve the Lord in what they are doing, and run the company in a way that would glorify God.

On their website it says that they seek to be faith oriented and inclusive of all types of people. Not only are they founded on Christian principles, but they also understand the importance of loving all people. So what does it look like for a chicken company to serve the Lord? The companies tagline is “raising the world’s expectations for how much good food can do”. For the average American food is a privilege that is far to frequently overlooked. Tyson Chicken seeks to make people aware of the blessing that food truly is and how being generous with the resource of food can change peoples lives. The company also maintains a Christ-like mindset when it comes to ethics. In the food industry it is easy to be dishonest about ingredients, serving sizes and plenty of other things.

Tyson makes it their goal to “provide truth and integrity” in their products, and by doing so create greater customer relations. Companies like Tyson are making impacts on the community without the community even realizing it. By standing up for what is right, perusing truth and seeking to Glorify the Lord, Tyson has an incredible foundation to change the food industry and the lives of the people involved.

  • I was unaware that Tyson was a Christian organization, or even that they held these values. Very interesting and refreshing to hear.

  • Tyson is definitely NOT living out these values. They are very well known for treating their chicken farmers unethically. They force them to buy larger barns to meet the requirements of being one of their farming partners. They often take out loans to do so, they make their chicken live in unhealthy atmospheres so they get fat and mature younger. The farmers don't want to treat their chickens this way but if they don't Tyson won't purchase chickens from them, they are in debt from having to purchase larger facilities. This has also led to a huge issue with farmer suicides.

  • This is so cool, I had no idea that this company was such a outwardly spoken Christian company. Their goal of providing truth and integrity is soo cool!
