Chick-Fil-A: 60 Years of Devotion

Founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1967 by S. Truett Cathy, Chick-Fil-A has faithfully served for over a half-century with a unique business-model even to this day. In fact, modern day America pushes further and further away from CFA’s practice which makes it all-the-more impressive and respectable that they stick to their special style. I am, of course, referring to the refusal to open on Sundays. Although consumers receive frustration from the commitment to closing one full day a week, CFA still holds to Cathy’s observation of “the importance of letting his employees set aside one day to rest and worship if they choose.” The website further explains and implies the Christian roots of this decision; After creating all that exists besides Himself, God rested on the seventh day, demonstrating what those who follow Him are able to do and the importance of resting (Genesis 2:1-3).
