Most people have had a piece of Tyson chicken in their life, or at least heard of the name.  But you might be impressed to find out about their Christian ideals and business practices.  Being the world’s largest chicken company, Tyson reaches an unbelievable amount of people.  From their 122K employees to a huge customer base.  Tyson sells directly to individuals, grocery stores, and other such businesses that use their chicken and other products.  As a matter of fact, they have over 35 other brand names that they have absolved over the years.  Some of these names include the popular: Jimmy Dean, Hillshire Farm, and Sara Lee.

The founder John Tyson is very open about his religious beliefs and has transferred these into the company’s core values.  Two of which include striving to honor God and to be a faith-friendly company.  The workplace really embraces their spirituality and transfers these values among their employees providing them with opportunities to grow in their faith.

One of the best things about this company is the 98 Chaplains that they employ in order to “provide compassionate pastoral care to team member and their families, no matter what their religious affiliation or beliefs might be.”  They strive to not only offer care to their Christian employees but expose non-religious employees to the power and love of Christ. This type of workplace missions can be extremely powerful and effective for everyday people who are surrounded by Christians in a loving and encouraging environment.

  3. That’s crazy – I would’ve never guessed that Tyson was a Christian-based company. It’s really cool that such a massive company can reach so many customers and employees through a very organic way of standing for Christian-based values, which I’m sure has attracted many to Christ in turn.

  4. I love seeing that a company that so many people use, truly has a christian and faith affiliation. I also just love the idea that they have 98 chaplains and that they take advantage of their situation to minister to 122 thousand employees and their families. Very very cool.

  5. Awesome! It would be cool to see how their interactions with buyers might lead to more conversations. I also wonder how their values affect their standards concerning supply.

  6. Wow, I was not aware of this until now! So cool that they have such a strong emphasis on faith in their company, and it’s awesome to see those 98 chaplains in the mix to help anyone in need. Very cool post, thank you!
