World Vision

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization with a kingdom impact. It was founded in 1950 by Bob Pierce, who was a preacher. His purpose for developing World Vision at first was to help the thousands of orphaned children from the Korean war. It then further developed into helping children, families, and communities to reduce poverty and injustice. The impact that this organization has is substantial. They are able to help the vulnerable populations around the world and at the same time spread the love of God which is a double win.

Importance of Kingdom Mindset

Personally, I find it incredible the impact businesses can bring to the world around them. They can change and impact so much, that’s why it is so important for them to embody the kingdom mindset. We should be doing everything to Glorify God and wanting to serve others. We should conduct our business as, business as mission (BAM). By doing so, we are able to change the life of others around us and let God work through us. This gives Him an opportunity to work on their hearts even if they are unbelievers. Every opportunity counts.

Imperative and Impacts

Furthermore, with World Vision they go about it with a holistic approach. They worry about not only children’s physical well-being but their mental and spiritual as well. They make sure to continually educate themselves through technical expertise in order to make sure they meet the needs of every context and community. Additionally, they hold many different global campaigns. For instance, one of their campaigns is called ENOUGH. ENOUGH is a campaign to help with child hunger. In order to do these things, they have strategic imperatives that they follow. Their strategic imperatives state to “deepen our commitment to the most vulnerable girls and boys, focus our ministry for greater results, collaborate and advocate for broader impact, deliver high quality sustainable funding, and to live out our Christian faith and calling with boldness and humility” (Our Promise, n.d.). By following these they will help the organization reach its goals. Specifically, these imperatives help keep them on track with their Kingdom impact.
