Why Churches Should Be Talking More About Social Entrepreneurship

Why Churches Should Be Talking More About Social Entrepreneurship

The attached article, by Kenda Dean, goes into detail about why it is important that the Church should be spreading the idea of why social entrepreneurship is key to spreading the gospel. In all business where Christians go to work every day there are opportunities to help others see the truth of the gospel. Kenda brings up an example of a food truck ministry that her Church uses to minister to college students and she says that when looking at the food truck it is not about the way that you fund the cost of hanging out with college students, but rather how you hang out with the college students. For an actual food truck owner who is also a Christian making money through his food truck is an important thing but the amount of people that you can reach on the street and in the community is GIANT. You have an opportunity to make an impact on mechanics, zoning officials, organic farmers, and the list goes on. The impact you can make with even a small food truck is huge, so think about the indent that you could make with an entire Church congregation going out into their community every dPerson reading book outside ay and touching those in their workplaces and sharing the love of Christ with others.

  1. The Church has a major influence in promoting business for the expansion of the kingdom. I think being a Christian workplace can be cliche at times but there really are ways to make an impact. Having meetings of business people within the Church could help brainstorm these strategies.
