What examples of redemptive entrepreneurship can you observe and write about?
In a business world full of deception, fraud, and dishonesty, we need redemptive entrepreneurship more than ever. The power of redemptive entrepreneurship is a hope in business that can bring restoration in the broken places where the average business falls.
Redemptive entrepreneurship doesn’t just fall into large companies’ hands. Small businesses and nonprofits can take on this role of redemptive entrepreneurship. For example, I can think of a local small business back in my hometown that seeks to give homeless citizens employment options. There are endless ways to apply this mindset and way of business into your life and community, regardless of your situation.
When doing research for our most recent group project, I came across an interesting and great example of redemptive entrepreneurship. The startup Lasting, founded by Praxis accelerator alumni Steven Dziedzic, is an excellent example of redemptive entrepreneurship. Lasting is a self-guided therapy company trying to redeem the relationships we see around us. This indirectly relates to my group’s class project, so I read up on Lasting and Dziedzic more to gather information and see how they at Lasting succeed in the redemptive entrepreneurship world.
Dziedzic’s heart wants to offer products, in this case Lasting, to flourish human relationships. Steven came up with this idea as he explored resources available to those in troubled relationship issues. He helped couples understand one another, work through disagreements, and connect in healthier ways. His program has been able to help 94% of its couples improve their problems and pave the way for a healthier relationship.
To go back to the central theme of redemptive entrepreneurship, people like Steven and those who run redemptive businesses view business as a vocation, not just a profession. Using leadership based on faith-oriented values to make an impact last is where these businesses shine in a broken world.

Lasting sounds like a much needed business for the world today. Since so many people have relationships that are in the process of fracturing or are broken altogether, creating something with the intention to cultivate flourishing human relationships is a fantastic idea. This certainly follows the theme of redemptive entrepreneurship, and I think with more businesses like these there can actually be a tremendous positive impact left on the world around us.
