When you’re engaging in entrepreneurship, you often need a vision or dream of what you want your business/organization to be. As Christians, this is often a desire put into our heart by God that we’re pursuing.
When God gives you a desire to do something, when He shows you a little piece of the plan for your life, it’s very exciting. The next step of action typically is either going after it instantly or going through a process of waiting and preparation before you’re able to start acting on what God’s given you.
When you get to a point of waiting, whether that be right at the beginning or later into the process, it’s hard to stay motivated. The initial excitement and drive do not last through the process to its completion. That is God’s good design. Our emotions shouldn’t be what sustain us through hard times because emotions are fleeting and inconsistent. But our God is constant and consistent, and if you lean into Him, you will get through the process.
When exercising patience in this scenario it puts you in a position of dependency on God. It’s important to come back to the headspace of the disciples on the boat. Jesus said He would carry you through to the end and He will, so rest when you’re called to rest.
