No – I don’t mean that there is actual, dependable hope in the wonderful, caffeinated drink too many of us depend on throughout the day, widely known as coffee. This hope I speak of is found in the heart of a company called HOPE Coffee, who proudly serves their customers as an openly Christian coffee company.
HOPE Coffee recognized a crucial part of Scripture calls God’s people to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly. Specifically, the verse can be found in Micah 6:8 where it says, “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” HOPE Coffee has dedicated themselves to not only declare but fulfill this mission as best to their ability as they can throughout their business with farmers, vulnerable families, and their customers.
To act justly, HOPE Coffee works directly with farmers from around the world to supply themselves with the coffee that they’re selling. To love mercy, HOPE Coffee provides clean water, safe shelter and education for families in need. And to walk humbly, HOPE Coffee supports churches in local communities who are working to reach the families around them.

For something that practically everybody around the world drinks, it is so cool to see christian company continually seek unique ways to dominate their niche markets. On top of that, they are making a huge difference from an industry they could easily simply make money out of.

Coffee is great but when the proceeds go to helping something like this it makes it so much better! I love the idea of this organization and the ways that there are using their profits to help those in need- just as the Lord calls us.
