Practically living out the Gospel is easier said than done. There are so many instances where businesses have a general goal of being culturally redeeming but are not able to actually find ways to impact their community. This is why it is important to have redemptive methodology. This involves building out best practices for the business to take to begin and grow their impact over time. It takes time for a business to become successful and it takes time to develop a redemptive strategy, execute it, and see the fruit.
Some good practices to start with for businesses to create a cultural of redemptive impact begin with employees and employers. Employers should be attentive to paying fair wages for the work done. This fosters a positive attitude among workers and helps them direct their attention outward. The employers should display strong leadership in their redemptive goals and reflect their optimism in their day-to-day attitude. Obviously, it is impossible to always have a good attitude but setting a good example is critical for keeping everyone on the right track.
Other strategies to implement in the redemptive methodology involve good business practices like maintaining good relationships with business partners. Owners and managers should be sure to pay their vendors in a timely manner. They should pay attention to fulfilling all necessary terms and be transparent in their contracts.
The last part of redemptive methodology involves creating the strategy for community impact itself. This means finding the areas the business should influence and forming a step-by-step approach for meeting. If the business’ goal is helping the homeless community, create a schedule for events, timeline and budget for donations, and tangible metrics for the business’ efforts. These things should fall into place smoothly if the right culture exists and the business itself is operating on all cylinders.
