The Rabbit Room is a faith-based, non-profit organization that seeks to share the beauty of God’s creation and truth through music, art, story, and poetry. Inspired by a visit to C.S. Lewis’s Oxford home, musician and author Andrew Peterson founded the Rabbit Room (named after the back room of the pub where the Oxford Inklings met) to be a Christ-centered community of people who share their gifts, ideas, and stories with the goal of drawing others into the great Story and spiritual formation.

In addition to a beautiful website that is packed with articles and poems for inspiration, the Rabbit Room also now has a physical location. North Wind Manor, a 150 year old farmhouse in Tennessee, now serves as the Rabbit Room headquarters. This was funded by generous supporters of the Rabbit Room’s mission, and it will serve as a home base to host concerts, Bible studies, and lectures, as well as to provide a quiet, secluded space for people to come and read, feast, and regain their footing.

The Rabbit Room has also engaged in entrepreneurial practices with their publishing company, Rabbit Room Press. They receive the works of people who may be overlooked by major publishing companies and give them a platform to share their message. This has resulted in many amazing books, such as Every Moment Holy (a book of liturgies for activities and circumstances in everyday life) to be shared with the world.

Other activities include Hutchmoot, an annual gathering for all who would like to partake in a  “celebration of story, art, music, food, faith, and fellowship,” as well as the Local Show, a gathering of musicians twice a month at a local coffeehouse to share songs they have been writing and loving. The Rabbit Room also runs a podcast called “The Habit” that centers on writing.

  • That's cool! Awesome to see a musical artist get involved in his community and share his talent and inspire others to do the same in such a way. Cool to see that they are inviting others in that wouldn't normally get the chance to have their work published and be heard!

  • This is amazing. So much if ministry is often creating a space for it to occur. I love the concept and that they are promoting people in their own ministries.
