The four stages of a company’s development according to Praxis are Concept, Launch, Prove, and Scale. In these four stages it is important for a company to never lose focus on their mission and vision. Many companies will enter the development process with a great concept, and a good mission and vision. They will then move into launching their company and risk losing parts of their mission and vision in order to have a successful launch. Next a company will enter the Prove stage of the development process and now must focus on results and success. At this point of the of development process, I believe is the point where companies will lose their focus and lose perspective on what the original goal was.

Blaine Hurst, CEO at Panera gave six lessons for entrepreneurs, and the first lesson for an entrepreneur, is to know what matters and to focus, focus, focus. Blaine Hurst argued that it is very easy for people to lose sight what truly matters in the world, and very easy to get lost in the “stupid little stuff.” As a redemptive entrepreneur, we are blessed to have an accurate perspective on the world and to know the truth. Although we have an accurate perspective, we must be careful to never lose sight of this perspective. It is imperative for a company in their early stages to create a mission and vision for their company that they will not compromise on. As a company goes through the development process, it becomes easier to focus on the financials, the distribution, the colors on your websites, and the small marketing efforts. As a company begins to focus on these small parts of their business, they begin to lose focus on what really matters and they lose their focus, they lose their perspective and ultimately will create a business or product that does not fully meet the original goal, the original mission, or ultimately their original vision
