Most people have heard of “Noah’s Ark”, or maybe just know it as “The Ark”. This ark housed two of every animal on the earth and were kept alive through the global flood to then reproduce all over the world. This Ark was build through God by Noah, and it was massive! This Ark had the dimensions of 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. A massive undertaking for even a modern builder. The Ark Encounter set out with a goal to rebuild the ark to the exact size in Williamstown, Kentucky. They designed a complete tourist experienced based around biblical history and use it as a way of spreading the word and bringing it all back to life.
The entire complex of “The Ark Encounter” has plenty of different experiences and activities throughout the layout. Visitors can tour the ark, go on a zipline course, experience the museum, and many other activities for the entire family. The Ark Encounter’s goal is to bring the ark back to life and make it an interactive experience. They want to make learning history fun for all ages and give an almost amusement park feel to it. The Ark Encounter also has held debates of creation versus evolution/big bang theories and has been a large marketing campaign for them. This complex is a great example of being able to create an environment of Christian/redemptive impact while also running it as a business.
