Rescuing Leftover Cuisine

“Rescuing Leftover Cuisine” is a company who collects “left over cuisine” from restaurants and donates the food to nonprofit organizations to “provide food to the insecure”.  I stumbled over this company during the summer.  I work at a Bakery and at the end of every day, there are large quantities of pastries left over.   As employees, we are trained to throw away the food at the end of the night.  This was heart breaking to me, knowing there are so many people that are suffering and cannot afford food.  I began researching companies that take and donate food, and I found “Rescuing Leftover Cuisine”.  This company goes out of their way to personally pick up the food from restaurants and deliver it to nonprofit recipients.  This company is doing great redemptive work by serving the people of God through a service that is incredibly untouched in society.

Upon visiting their website, they outline the four simple steps it takes for restaurants to participate in their service!

  • The first step is for the restaurant to package their excess food.
  • Next, this company comes to pick up the food.
  • Thirdly, the company delivers the food to a local nonprofit organization.
  • Lastly, the donations get distributed to the community.

On their website, they also included a list of benefits to donating.  Benefits include, enhanced tax savings, manage wasted food, and reduced disposal costs.

Overall, awareness needs to be spread about this business and others like it.  The world is hurting for more business like “Rescuing Leftover Cuisine”.   There are so many people who could benefit from this service.  Especially after COVID, people’s lives have been turned upside down and “Rescuing Leftover Cuisine” works redemptively to bring food to the less fortunate.   This company makes it as easy as possible for businesses to donate their leftovers. This is a simple service that touches the lives of many, and gives them a sweet treat to look forward to 🙂
