One business that I think entrepreneurship and the mission of the church is being explored, is within Nature Nate’s Honey CO. This business was named after Nathan Sheets, because he was a nature lover and outdoorsman. After going to college and owning his own ad agency, Nathan began to serve in the ministry. He has journeyed on 100+ mission trips all over the world with the goal of helping others. He was also one of the driving forces behind the global “I Am Second” media campaign that highlights stories of hundreds of lives transformed through the grace of Jesus Christ. In 2010, he decided to make honey his full-time endeavor, and life has never been sweeter. As Nate likes to say, “The Lord has blessed us so we can be a blessing to others.”
One way he has put that quote into practice, is by using his honey company to help others. Honey Gives Hope is the name for multiple areas they work towards helping others. They team up with experts across the country and invest in critical research with leading universities to work toward a world where honeybees and hives are healthy. This mission relates to God’s command to us that we are to tend and care for the earth. They give throughout the year to 501(c)(3) mission-driven organizations, like the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Kids’ Meals, Inc. and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, that support kids and families across the country. This mission is related to God’s command for us to care for the poor, the sick, those in need. And they also provide honey to food banks, hospitals, ministries, schools and other non-profit community groups that don’t normally have access to this all-natural superfood. Nature Nate’s is truly doing ministry work through this company.
Overall, I think Nathan is committed to his company, and making sure its brand is something meaningful that will project the love and word of God. His work of entrepreneurship by starting this company and making sure the honey is 100% honey, and his mission to help others, Nature Nate’s Honey CO. is a business that is truly thriving.
