There are so many people in the world who are hungry and lost in need of love and care. The Light of Life Rescue Mission meets the immediate needs of homeless men, women, and children while empowering them to transform their lives. Light of Life’s tagline is where hope and healing meet. This redemptive nonprofit seeks to transform the lives of the homeless population in Pittsburgh by loving as Christ did. They provide food, shelter, and hope to all who suffer from homelessness, poverty, or addiction. This mission offers essential needs for those who cannot access necessities. Light of Life is a excellent example of a redemptive nonprofit. They have a large reach to the people in need and can gain the support they need from the community. They have many volunteer opportunities to involve those who want to support their mission. Such as serving a meal, being the bridge program, fundraising and outreach events, and other group opportunities. Everything Light of Life does aligns strongly with its mission. All the events and everything they do serve the needy and the lost. They follow the example of Jesus within their mission. Jesus looked after the hungry, lost, unwanted, and Light of Life does the same. A quote from a Light of Life program graduate states, “Today I’ve learned that I am no longer lost but am found. He will never leave me. He has a purpose for the broken hearted. I am forever grateful for the Light of Life helping me see the light through the darkness.” This quote exemplifies the transformation individuals receive from being a part of the rescue mission. The testimonies are incredible and truly inspiring from the way that Light of Life reaches the lost. My dad takes employees from his business every month to volunteer and serve breakfast to the individuals who use their resources. He has seen lives transformed and has formed relationships with some of the individuals there and it is a true testament to their mission. Light of Life Rescue Mission some may think is just a homeless shelter in Pittsburgh but it does so much more than serve meals to the hungry. Light of Life Rescue Mission is an incredible redemptive business.
