If you’ve ever volunteered at a homeless shelter, you probably have a solid perspective on what Light of Life Rescue Mission is all about. Light of Life is a ministry centered around providing food and shelter for the homeless, while also making a point to “build disciples for the Kingdom of God among the poor, addicted, abused and needy.” Located in Pittsburgh, PA, Light of Life has served over 250,000 meals, served over 1,500 homeless people, and served over 1,000 women and children. With their recovery programs for both men and women, they’ve seen an impact that’s restored hope for thousands of people seeking a brighter future.
Throughout all of the programs that they run, they uphold the truths of the Bible and commit themselves to a holy approach of business. With prayer, a strong volunteer population, and a big God, their mission has been made possible to change lives daily. Specifically with the COVID-19 crisis, shelter and food provision becomes quite a challenge with their original approach to accomplishing this. On their website (linked below), they posted their need for help more than ever and are asking for donations – “$2.58 provide a meal and hope in this time of crisis.” I hope that anybody reading this may have it in their heart to go donate as a contributor in their mission, but more importantly, join as a prayer partner for not only Light of Life but homeless shelters all over the world in this time of crisis.
