What is a daily necessity that most of us take for granted every single time that we use it? Water. This luxury, in its purest form, is something that thousands of children go without every single day. The organization Lifewater, however, is attempting to relieve this crisis one village at a time. Lifewater is a Christian organization that has found a need and is attempting to meet it. Their mission is: “We are Christians committed to ending the global water and sanitation crisis, one village at a time.” And their vision is: SAFE WATER for every child. A HEALTHY HOME for each family. THE LOVE OF CHRIST for all.”

Lifewater has in-country staff that go into the villages and homes of the locals and teach them about healthy living and provide safe water for them. They educate the people about the illnesses/diseases that are carried in the unclean water and help show them ways to cleanse the water and improve their health. They have construction workers come in and design water solutions that are safe and accommodating for the village that they are in. They strive to engage local churches, establish healthy schools, and train villagers to lead their community with the mindset of healthy and safe living.

Lifewater gives people the opportunity to “sponsor a village” where you can donate money towards a fund to that specific village, and then you will be given access to see your money impact that community and follow along the process of educating and providing clean safe water, and healthy living for the community.

Lifewater is an awesome organization that strives to make a difference with the means and resources that they have and provides ways for the ordinary person to have a part in making a difference. They strive to reach the unreached and spread the good news of the gospel as they do it.

  • Lifewater sounds like such an incredible organization! Thank you for sharing about them and their mission. I love that they not only focus on the water crisis, but part of their mission is to help create a healthy home - and ultimately share the love of Jesus. Water is something that I definitely take for granted, and forget to thank the Lord for. Great post!

  • I have seen a lot of organizations that want to give clean water or send food to countries that lack those things, but it's hard to find organizations that are specifically Christian and outward about it. Thanks for sharing about Lifewater.

  • It is important to not only help a community in need but give it the tools in order to one day be independent. I was reading an article a few months where a farmer in Africa said, "it is not that i do not know how to farm but I don't have the tools to mass produce". Sometimes i think we just keep giving countries what they need time and time again instead of teaching and showing the countries how to become prosperous. It is great to see this company not only helping the poor and needy but also showing the people how to deal with illness and what to look for.
