K- Love: More Than a Radio Station

K- Love: More Than a Radio Station

Many families are familiar with K-Love or if you’re anything like my family, then K-Love is all you listen to in the car. K-Love is a radio network with a genre focus of contemporary Christian music that has expanded to cover the entire United States. While K-Love is Christian based, many families from all backgrounds will gravitate towards this station because of how family-friendly they are. Many radio stations today are explicit and not targeted towards families, and the niche that K-Love has allows them to grow their audience. What started as a local northern California radio station, has now expanded to cover all of America because of satellite technology. K-Love is a great example of redemptive entrepreneurship. Their business qualities focus on the expansion of the world through creating more stations and accessibility to everyone.

The inclusion that K-Love strives for is admirable and a large priority.  Something that not many realize is that K-Love is not just a radio station, they are a full-time ministry that has over 100 calls a day from listeners who seek guidance. The team that makes up K-Love is largely pastors and active church members who provide prayer requests over the phone. The team will partner with other Christian ministries that have impacted all over the country and world. K-Love is a strategic, family-friendly radio station that attempts to provide the word of Christ to everyone. They are intentional with spreading the word and giving back through charities and other services.

  1. I grew listening to KLOVE 24/7. It’s all I ever listened too. It really had an impact on my faith as a young kid. Yes, I know the stereotype of KLOVE being a top 40 song station on repeat (and it is definitely true). However, being so immersed in worship music and that positive and encouraging (pun intended) atmosphere really taught me a lot about the importance of surrounding yourself in good, uplifting, and christian music, friends, and friends. I have learned that when I start forgetting to stop and listen to worship music (I typically don’t choose KLOVE anymore) that it affects my mood. And while it sounds silly (even to me), its true.

  2. My family was just like yours, we listened to KLOVE all the time growing up, in the car or around the house almost exclusively (sometimes mixing in a little classic rock). It had a great impact on my life, and quite honestly developed my love for music. The ministry of KLOVE is a necessity in the culture, for the amount of time people spend in cars listening to radios, having this opportunity to reach them is huge.
