Jill’s House – Redemptive Entrepreneurship at the Core.

Jill’s House – Redemptive Entrepreneurship at the Core.

When considering Redemptive Entrepreneurship, Jill’s House is a company that I believe embodies every aspect of a redemptive entrepreneurial culture and mission. Jill’s House helps serve children with intellectual disabilities and their families by offering a safe haven for their parents to help entrust their children to… allowing them to have some respite and renewal. They currently welcome around 45 boys and girls for overnight stays and other types of care that will help their parents get that respite and renewal, while also helping meet the needs that many parents do not find. Redemptive Entrepreneurship is restoration through sacrifice. This is at the core of Jill’s House’s business model.

We can see this “restoration through sacrifice” in many ways through Jill’s House operations. First, they are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. They make it a goal to provide this respite and care for these parents for free. A lot of the time these parents are stressed beyond their means, and any aide is crucial to help keep their relationships together, but also their mental health. Jill’s House has many different programs whether they are during the day or at night, providing many opportunities for respite from these parents.

Second, Jill’s House is redemptive simply in the goals of its operations. They want to serve individuals with intellectual disabilities but they also want to see them thrive. Jill’s House wants them to see their ability and not their disabilities, and help them reach their full potential even if they currently don’t see it themselves.

Finally, We can see how Jill’s House is a great example of Redemptive Entrepreneurship through their kingdom impact. Jill’s House wants to bring Christ in each relationship they have with their clients but also their parents. They want to share the hope and grace that Christ brings and ensure that these parents see it. In their circumstances, it is quite understandable to lose sight of their faith but Jill’s House hopes to bring that back to the forefront of their mind.

  1. I really enjoyed this article and the kingdom impact of Jill’s House. It’s quite inspiring to see redemptive entrepreneurship taking place in helping grow the next generation. Their ability to help these parents and teach these kids is quite inspiring and makes me feel that there are still many great things being accomplished out in the world. Giving the parents a safe haven for their children is a great way to strengthen their learning and implement their ministry and purpose into these children to give them a chance for a better quality of life.

  2. I love how Jill’s House seeks to care for the parents, care for the children, and spread the Gospel while doing it. They are seeking to remind the parents of Jesus even in hard situations and provide support and love as those parents are providing love and support to their own little ones. I love that God’s mission is at work in this business
