Sometimes the Lord shows up in big and marvelous ways, other times it is the still quiet voice. Regardless of how loud or small the voice of the Lord is, we can all agree that it is still the voice of the Lord. Similarly, certain companies print bible verses and seek to be a public example of Jesus while others seek to live by example and model Jesus by the way they do business. Interstate Batteries is a well known battery company that works closely with NASCAR and providing things necessary for the cars to run. In addition to that the company is founded on Christian principles.  When John Searcy started Interstate he implemented this idea of giving back and supporting those around you. He also sought to create a company that seeks to serve the Lord and glorify Him through the work that they do. As Christians we are called to live in the world and not be of the world, and Interstate is a great example of that. They are in the world by being a part of the secular business realm, providing goods that are essential to certain things, yet is doing all of their work for the glory of God. The heart behind their service and their reason for being is to serve others in a way the Jesus would. Written in their missions statement is “We fulfill our purpose by doing business based on Biblical principles such as: honesty, humility, service and care”. Interstate Batteries is an example to other Christian companies about how to practically live and do business for the Lord, even in secular environments.
