ImagoDei
I wanted to talk about a collective my dad founded called ImagoDei. He started it while we were living in Nice in 2019. He has always had an entrepreneurship mindset to sharing the gospel and creating innovative Christian environments. For imagoDei he wanted to create a media platform that would reach Christians working in secular environments broaching the topic of how one can live in the image of God in said environments. He also wanted to help them know how to respond to certain issues arising in our secular world in a Christian way. To enact it he gathered an international, french speaking, team of professionals working in various secular fields like business, arts, sports, fashion, politics, and more. These professionals keep up with modern day topics and are able to share their thoughts and ideas through articles, podcasts, and videos. They implement cultural apologetics and public theology to address these issues.
ImagoDei puts on events throughout the year that focus around topics happening in various artistic, cultural, or media fields. During these events they foster a welcoming environment in which Christians can talk about their convictions and thoughts on these various topics. They create fellowship and ultimately strive to grow and encourage other Christians through community.
The creation of this collective was inspired by the redemptive model of Praxis that holds an “I sacrifice, we win” mindset. Praxis emphasizes the importance of not having a mindset solely focused on short-term profit but having it rather set in long-term stewardship, restoration, and truth. ImagoDei enacts these values by bringing professional opinions and keeping to the gospel truth.

Elisabeth, this is so cool! I love that your dad recognized a real need and chose to step in with a tangible solution.
In today’s world, apologetics is more important than ever. As Christians, we aren’t called to disengage or simply critique culture from a distance; we’re called to respond thoughtfully and create practical alternatives to the brokenness we see around us. What your dad is doing feels like a beautiful example of faith lived out in action.
