Back in 1970, a couple named David and Barbara Green started making miniature picture frames out of their home. Two years later, they decided to open up a store, named Hobby Lobby, right in Oklahoma City. Today, Hobby Lobby is the largest privately owned arts-and-crafts retailer in the world with over 43,000 employees and operating in 47 states! This store offers over 70,000 items featuring home decor, seasonal decor, tableware, floral, art supplies, craft supplies, yarn, fabric, jewelry making, hobbies and much more!
Did you also know that Hobby Lobby is actually a Christian company? Owner, David Green, has been described by Forbes Magazine as “the largest evangelical benefactor in the world”. Green has also stated that all of his earnings off the successful company belong to God! Green does a fantastic job at incorporating his faith and God with Hobby Lobby! This is something that is super rare in todays day! Hobby Lobby sells items like Bibles, church and school supplies for the homeschooled, and many more! On Hobby Lobby’s website, they have stated that they are committed to “Serving our employees and their families by establishing a work environment and company policies that build character, strengthen individuals, and nurture families.” Hobby Lobby is not only a Christian business, but they also serve their customers just like Jesus served on this earth!
