Gideon Bibles for All

Few organizations have reached the success that Gideons International has with their outreach. Gideons International was founded with the idea that all should have access to the Bible and hear the Gospel. They have made incredible strides in achieving this goal. They have many ministries including hotels and impoverished areas.

The first ministry that Gideons focuses on is hotels. I would be shocked to hear that someone has never seen a Gideons Bible at a hotel they visited. They have made great efforts to put Bibles in every hotel room, and I have not been disappointed. At almost every hotel I have been to, they do not disappoint with a Bible in the bedside drawer. While they are not actively speaking to individuals, they evangelize by giving everyone access to a Bible. Almost everyone will stay in a hotel during their lifetime. Therefore, everyone will have access to God’s Word at least once. In a dull hotel room with mediocre television, the Bible is always there to initially provide entertainment as reading material, but it can quickly become redemptive in someone’s life. Through this ministry, people are exposed to the wonder of God’s Word and hopefully take the time to explore it.

Gideons has also given Bibles to those in poverty. While we have seemingly endless access to the Bible, whether purchasing one from the bookstore or using the Bible app, we can read God’s Word at our fingertips. Unfortunately, many do not have the privilege. Because of this, one of Gideons’ missions is to provide Bibles to those who would not have access otherwise.

Gideon has used their platform to provide a way for millions around the world to read God’s Word. While they are a non-profit organization, they have grown into a household name. Their impact has changed many lives as they continue to expand their ministry.
