Forever 21 and Their Christian Agenda

Forever 21 and Their Christian Agenda

Forever 21 is a Christian company that is trying to further the voice of Christ through putting Bible verses on their company bags and Christian thinking on their tee-shirts. It is clothing for the young fashionable men and women. They have recently received a lot of flack about their new release of graphic design tees. The shirts have strong Christian themes, such as Jesus, Heavenly Father, and Prayer. Rachel Kane recently criticized Forever 21 in her satirical blog, saying Forever 21 is “going Holy balls to the wall with tops that have what reads like scripture on them.” According to Kane, the T-shirts “jumped out” at her and said, “You are no longer in a store. Welcome to the Sunday morning service you did not sign up for. Now get to prayin’ sinner!” Forever 21 is run by the Chang family, devout Christians, who, according to Business Week, have hopes to one day devote themselves fully to the church. The Chang Family said, “Well I personally am not afraid. If you can glorify MTTM and Dimepiece with their vulgar tees and buy tees with political agendas, homosexuality, or Buddhism, then I can praise Jesus with mine, which is why I wore my ‘Love, Peace, Faith, Hope, Jesus’ Tank yesterday.”

  1. I have heard that Forever 21 is a Christian company, but before this I would have never believed it. The clothes that they sell and the way that they brand themselves has never come off “Christian” to me. I can see it more now with their very verbal t-shirts and such, so I think it is a great way for them to start showing off what they believe.

  2. I never knew that Forever 21 was a Christian company, and I am still very skeptical to believe that they are Christian. I appreciate the Chang family is sticking to their guns and coming up with more Christian things to put on clothing. My one question is: Why are they not fully devoted to a church now?
