My family friends Jim and Amy Schneider began an eyewear company in 2008 called Eyes of Faith Optical. Their goal was simple, to create an eyewear company that shares the message of God to anyone who wears their glasses. This was a big step for them, but they saw a great opportunity in the optical industry because there were no faith-based brands present. The way they share Christ through their frames are simple, their frames are named after the Biblical scripture on the inside of them. For example, the frames that I wear in class are called “Reflect.” The Bible verse inside of the frame is 2 Corinthians 3:18 “…see and reflect the glory of the Lord.” Not only do they share scripture through their frames, they are also involved in missions to provide eyewear to people around the world, also to build homes for orphans and widows at Delilah’s Point Hope Village.

What I think is great about this brand, and Jim and Amy is that it is so evident of them submitting to God’s plan and seeing where He will take this brand. Let me tell you, God always provides far more than we could ever imagine. They have been able to sell their eyewear all over the country, provide eyewear to people all over the world, all while staying grounded in Christ. Eyes of Faith is a huge testament to trusting in the Lord and seeing where He will take you. Huge fan of them, that’s why I have three pairs of glasses from them!

  • I have heard of ministries partnering with an eyewear company to bring eyewear to those who need it around the world, but I have not heard of an openly Chrisitan Eyewear company, that sector of the market is wide open for ministry. I hope they are successful and don't feel bad for their success at all, God wants us to use our gifts to glorify him.

  • As someone who honestly doesn't get excited about products that just have scripture numbers on them, I can honestly say that I think that this is a cool idea. I have never heard of any eyewear company that was religiously affiliated either. I love the idea that a set of glasses is called "reflect" or some alternative to reflect what the message of their scripture is. This is a very cool idea that will definitely help to raise awareness for Christianity in a very new, creative way.

  • Wow this brand is so cool! I am going to tell my mom about it this because she would totally be interested in something like this. I love that they also are providing clear slight to people in need around the world. Many brands do this but not always to bring glory to God. Typically its to get customers for their "social good" causes. I really appreciate brands when they care for the needy because of an outpouring of love for the children of God.

  • One of the biggest exercises any Christian can do would be to exercise the faith. And it is an even bigger task when it is in the form of a business. Trusting in God is what our Lord has called us to do, among other things. To hear that Eyes of Faith is making it known through a great market, niche and specific, that the best thing we can do is to trust God is a great reminder to all. Even the dechurched and unchurched. They will definitely start thinking what is so great about trusting in a God who give people the lack of ability to see. Opportunity to evangelise.

  • This is amazing! This brand has a natural connection to a Biblical narrative and Gospel language, and it sounds like they are doing a great job of tapping into that redemptive potential. Thanks for sharing!
