Music is all around us and is considered a big influence in numerous cultures all over the world. There are so many different types of music including: rap, country, rock, hip-hop, soul, R&B, jazz and countless more. “Dream Label Group is a Christian company in business to reach the lost. DREAM doesn’t see the lines between the Christian and Secular music industry but instead, wholeheartedly and proudly acknowledges that each of us are using God given talents” (dreamlabelgroup.com). This message from DREAM is unique in its own way as they look to enhance the gospel through music and the messages that they deliver.

Dream Label Group was founded back in 2008 by David Hanley, the lead singer of PRESS PLAY. David is also a former 20 year full time worship leader and pastor. David’s passion and experience throughout his worship journey has allowed him to create a worship culture throughout the label. His primary goal is to create a culture of humble, serving and God-honoring music missionaries (dreamlabelgroup.com). David has created a unique and inspiring society through DREAM and has been able to partner with numerous artists that believe in and represent God’s messages & plans. It is truly amazing how God is able to work through others to bring them together in such creative ways. After all, He is the original creator & planner. The way that David Hanley has brought so many awesome people together to reach out and spread the good news is just one of the few ways that God is at work amongst us today. He can reach us through music and other ways we never thought possible. DREAM believes in showing Christ in everything they do and continues to follow the path that God has been able to pave for them.

  • I think it's interesting how they say they don't see the lines between Christian and secular music. I can see how music as a whole is a gift from God and a mechanism by which we can worship Him even if the lyrics aren't about Him. However it seems to me that they are missing something here since secular just means that it doesn't have a religious focus, and there are certainly many songs that do not have a religious focus that glorify the creation instead of the Creator. If you're going to acknowledge that religious music exists, then there has to be a line between religious and secular because of the nature of the focus of the song. That's just my thought process about this, but either way it seems like a cool business. Thanks for sharing!

  • I'm a big fan of good art that doesn't define itself by its Christianity. U2 is the go-to and overused example of this in the music sphere, and if DREAM is trying to do something similar, more power to them. To much of the church divides callings into sacred and secular, and it alienates both the people who feel called and non-Christians who might also be participating.
