Digital Discipleship

With the rise of social media and the increasing problem of uncivilized public discourse surrounding the topic of religion, it can be difficult for Christians to find theological rich articles about the issues facing modern society.

The Gospel Coalition is a digital platform for sound pastors and church leaders to share their opinions on topics ranging from Arts & Culture to Christian Living. In their own words, they work “to help people navigate the dizzying, deafening noise [of the world] by hearing more clearly [Christ’s] voice, [which are] “the words of eternal life” (John 6:68) that are the only source of ballast and whose death provides the only source of true transformation in our unsteady, sin-sick world.” (About, TGC, 2019)

This ministry seeks to provide a wide variety of content, which includes events, blogs, and other forms of important Christian outreach in the modern digital world. The Gospel Coalition allows for dialogue about the Christian calling the sacrifices and blessing that accompany a strong walk with the Lord.

The Gospel Coalition is led by a council, which is a group of qualified pastors that provide leadership to the organization. The Coalition’s council includes well-known reformed pastors such as John Piper, Tim Keller, and Kevin DeYoung. They always try to take practical steps to further the Kingdom of God, mentor Christians spiritually, and uphold Bible as a standard of truth within the global church.

In this article “The Gospel Coalition is a Coalition,” Don Carson, the president of the Gospel Coalition, writes, “we are not a monolith; we are a coalition. What holds us together is our shared commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ, as expressed in our Foundation Documents—our Confessional Statement and our Theological Vision of Ministry.” (About, TGC, 2019)

The Gospel Coalition is a strong advance in digital ministry. It is important to many millennial Christians because it is an excellent online resource for personal devotions, Bible Study material, and personal reflections/blogs from world-class pastors and Christian intellectuals. The Coalition seeks to help “people know God’s Word with their mind, love God fully with their heart, and engage the world with grace and truth.” (About, TGC, 2019)
