Digital Advancements
Digital advancements have completely changed ministry and what it has to offer. Now so many people can be reached from the comfort of their own homes. For instance, there are many online worship services that are offered. They can be reached by livestream, and they also can be play backed by being stored on the church’s website. This makes it possible for individuals to watch around the world. If people can’t make it due to being away from home or other issues, now they have an outlet to still attend. That way these people still have a community to rely on and can listen to God’s word no matter what. From personal experience I have watched church services with my family on Facebook live in order to make services that I can’t make due to being out of town. I can also do this while I am at college which is a great help since our church is not around the area. With that being said, this has been a great help for college students with the ones that still want to attend their hometown church.
Apps
Additionally, church apps have become a huge thing. These apps can be compromised by many different things. It could offer things like prayer requests, bible verses, sermons, etc. This can help people be more engaged and form a better connection. That being with other app users, with Gods word, and a church. I have the a Bible app and I use it everyday. Every morning I receive a bible verse and read my daily sermon to start my day.
Online Platforms
Also, once COVID hit a lot of people had to adapt and figure out how to still meet when they couldn’t physically. That’s when Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, and other online platforms became a huge hit. Churches started to use these platforms to their advantage as well. They started holding meetings and bible studies through these online platforms. COVID was a huge turning point for a lot of people and it forced a lot of people to adapt and pivot towards technology. I feel like that’s one of the main reasons why lots of things turned towards technology and it’s incredible the impact. Now churches are able to meet anywhere at any time and reach anyone.
It is apparent you have done your research. I really enjoyed this read, it was also really well-written and coherent. Keep up the good work!
