Chick Fil A Foundation

Chick Fil A Foundation

Chick fil a has long been criticized for its contributions to charities and groups that some consider to be “anti-LGBT”. The Georgia based chain has even been banned from both the San Antonio and Buffalo airports for their alleged history of intolerance. However, recently the company has announced a “more focused giving approach” for the coming years. This streamlining of donations has resulted in the company discontinuing their donations to both the Salvation Army as well as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Both organizations have been criticized for their stance on the LGBT community. Chick fil a has also announced a shift away from multi-year donation commitments and has now opted for a per-year operations model when it comes to giving. Chick fil a claims to be shifting their focus towards the homeless as a part of their new giving system. Many Chick fil a customers have expressed disappointment in Chick fil a’s plans for their giving foundation, some even claiming that the company has “caved to the extremists”. It will be interesting to see what direction Chick fil a continues to take regarding their donations.
