Chick-Fil-A

Chick-Fil-A

Everyone knows the iconic logo, some call it “the Lord’s chicken.” It’s cult-like following has accumulated for good reason too. Chick-Fil-A has dominated the fast food market to deliver quality food, in an uplifting environment.

Originating in Georgia, Chick-Fil-A began as an independent restaurant called the dwarf house. This is where he developed his famous chicken sandwich. This was in 1946, since then they have spread across 48 different states and territories.  Truett Cathy believed that running a successful business included fair wages and breaks for employees. This is why he made the decision to remain closed on Sundays. He wanted employees to rest, have freedom to attend services and not get burnt out.

The Chick-Fil-A brand has grown substantially, with modern times it has kept itself relevant in several ways. They have scholarship programs for employees to help pay for college, and consistently pay above the minimum wage. They also have inspiration awards, for inspiring members of the community who help others.

Many companies give donations to further political agendas or for tax write offs, but Chick-Fil-A continues to differentiate itself from the market here. They are intentional with causes they involve themselves in and continually work to do more.

The Chick-Fil-A experience would not be complete without the famous “my pleasure.” If dining in, you can expect a friendly host floating around the area, making sure sauces are stocked, tables are clean and customers have everything that they need. This is the minimum at Chick-Fil-A, and they continue to keep their standard of going above and beyond for each customer.

Another way they stand out is service, not only do they employ friendly faces and have good food, they are outstanding in quick service. I’m sure we remember seeing the employees outside, rain or shine with neon umbrellas, or under the carpark. They have worked strategically to move cars through quickly and accurately. Can you remember the last time they got your order wrong? Their elaborate cones, employees and lane system is engineered to get you in and out fast- without being late to that meeting.

Most recently Chick-Fil-A has opened an apparel branch, for those who want to literally embody the brand. Featuring socks, hoodies, and shirts with funny sayings or ingredients of the menu. This seems to be an extension of their exploration. A few years ago, they also decided to commercialize their sauces, which can now be found in most grocery stores. Another new item is their potato-fry-chips, which are convenient for on-the-go munching.

Chick-Fil-A stands out most however, by their Faith. Rooted in Biblical principles, their innovation, service and brand stand strong under slander. By staying true to their values, they maintain their market. Its easy to see why people love their food, and culture. They have a standard of excellence which appeals to a wide crowd, and brand transparency for trust. Even “Cow Day” is just another example of the Chick-Fil-A philosophy- “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us and to have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A”
