Blog post #5 Who is making advances in the area of digital ministry?

This blog post prompt caught my eye this week. I did some reflection and digiing and came across a strong Digital ministry to write about. Life Chruch as been a trail balzer in digital ministry. Integrating technology, creating new and powerful platforms and varois applications to lead to spiritual growth. Life Chruch has been amazing in advancements in digital ministry.

To start things off strong. Life Church’s very own Innovation Leader, Bobby Gruenewald, founded the YouVersion Bible app in 2008. Founded in 2008 by Life. Church’s Innovation Leader Bobby Gruenewald, YouVersion offers over 3,000 Bible versions in more than 2,000 languages. It has been downloaded over 500 million times. I personally use the YouVersion Bible app myself and have been for years. It has been a wonderful app that has led to spiritual growth in my own life through its personalized plans. This app alone has been such an amazing tool of digital ministry.

The Life Chruch app is another example of how this Church excels in digital ministry. This app allows users to watch or listen to messages from the Church whenever they please. You can download messages to listen to even offline. This is a great tool when It comes to those who cant always make it to a service or just are trying to see if the church is a good fit for them. My church back home offers something similar by having a podcast on Spotify. I can say that I use this frequently especially when I am at school away from my home church. It is nice to stay in the loop of things going on back home and catch a meaningful message.

In an advancing digital world, Churches like Life Chruch have proven to make real advancements in the digital ministry field. With tools like the various apps and platforms they have created, they have made a real impact in the world.

While digital ministry is great, I would be careful that we don’t grow too complacent in using it. Church was always meant to be a physical gathering, and digital solution should augment these physical gatherings or act as a replacement when a physical gathering is not possible. It’s always good to see advancements in the word, however!

This is a great topic of discussion. My friend once asked me, “If the Apostle Paul had social media, how do you think he would use it?” That question has stuck with me since. I think we don’t use digital advancements enough in ministry. However, I agree that the physical gathering ought to be highlighted and emphasized!
