Blog #1 – Stay Here

I went to Israel with Jacob Coyne, the founder of this organization called Stay Here. One day he wore a shirt that said, “Gen Z will be Suicide Free”. I was so taken back by the bold statement, but that is what led to hearing about his testimony and how the company came to be. Stay HereĀ is a Christian organization that reaches millions of people through social media such as TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. It started with just Jacob and his relative posting and spreading the gospel, but with time there has been increasing support. The company now creates teams and trains them to answer hotline services 24/7, community groups, and live events.

Not only are they reaching their market through social media, but the organization is putting actions behind their words. Anyone who joins the team will go through mental health training online such as how to handle situations and how lovingly share the Gospel. They are “dedicated to providing multiple avenues of support for those who are in need”. Some of the ways they help people online is through their hotline, speaking at school assemblies, coaching/training willing people, and starting programs in the local communities. Once training is done, they are capable of reaching whoever they want whether that is getting involved in the local schools or soup kitchens. The main goal is to break the stigma of mental health issues and prevent suicides.

The coolest thing about this organization is that anyone anywhere around the world can be involved. That is the beauty of being an online organization is because there is an abundance of opportunities for the mental stigma to be broken and the gospel to be shared. This company beautifully intertwines entrepreneurial actions and Kingdom mindfulness to anyone who sees the social media content.

Mission statement: “Our mission is to train 1 million individuals, 10,000 schools, and 10,000 churches with out ACT Suicide Prevention Training, to see a suicide free generation”.

  1. Wow! What an amazing organization. It is pretty cool to hear of an organization that is not only emphasizing the importance of life (in the prevention of suicide), but that through this they can share the gospel and share that there is so much more to this life and the life that is solely found in Christ! Very interesting, thanks for sharing!

  2. I have never heard of an organization like this. This organization is breaking a barrier between mental health and the church. It is incredible that they are focusing on the gospel and helping those that struggle with their mental health. This is another incredible way that the church can emphasis the importance of life.

  3. Wow, this is honestly so inspiring. I feel like there is so much pressure that this generation feels so this program that wants to help them make sure they feel like they are enough is so amazing and inspiring. This hits pretty close to home because one of my really good friends from HS went to Penn State and this year he ended up taking his life. I feel like this mission will help people that unsure about life and how Good it is through God.
