Greg Weese and I chose to discuss barber shop ministry together this semester in class, and pursue that as our project for the semester. On Tuesday, as Greg and I were searching for some inspiration on how to pursue barber shop ministry, we were able to get in contact with a guy named Kenny Williams, who for the past 7 years, has been leading several men to Christ through his own ministry, BarberShop Ministry. In 2020, Kenny created his branded barber shop, with the goal in mind to cut men’s hair while being genuine and talking to them about Jesus. He was blessed with a large building, where he holds weekly Bible studies that sees a regular attendance of 60+ men every week.
“Men need a place where they can go and they can feel safe; they trust their barber, they know he loves God, and they know that no matter what, you know, you’re not alone. This guy cares about you.”
7 years ago, Kenny Williams was struggling with alcohol, and his wife and young children were about to leave him, and that is when God turned his life around. Kenny quit drinking, and his wife and kids are happily back with him, and aiding him in his ministry. Kenny is always looking for new clientele to fade up and share the Good News with, so make sure to check out Kenny’s YouTube channel and show him some love!
