One of the key activities I do in times of weariness and uncertainty is going to church. Worshiping and communing with like minded believers helps provide me with the direction needed to share God’s love with the people I encounter as I go about my week.
Now, in a time of global uncertainty, the thing that helps ground so many people is an enormous safety hazard. The church is finding new innovative ways to reach people, In spite of the coronavirus and the countless services and small groups that have been cancelled. Many churches are livestreaming services and are making plans to share video or audio from previous services.
It is important that people not be isolated from one another during this time. People are going to need to be more intentional about making connections with others. Some churches are encouraging members to host virtual meetings (like small groups) with one another through apps like Google hangouts, House party and Zoom. Churches are encouraging their congregations to reach out to one another and maintain close relationships and support while simultaneously practicing social distancing.
