A Door of Hope Ministry

A Door of Hope Ministry

A Door of Hope is faith-based pregnancy center in Delaware focused on guiding women through the decision making process as a result from potentially unwanted pregnancies. The center’s two locations provide counseling programs, medical care by licensed physicians, and supplies for new mothers to raise a child. Women will be lead through the outcomes of either an abortion, keeping the child, or setting up an adoption. The organization is a non profit and all their offerings are free for the community. The state of Delaware has the highest percentage of pregnancies ending in abortion, meaning there is a large number of women who may not receive the guidance in order to make the right decision for themselves. the organization strives to protect the value of human life centered around the gospel.

Instead of getting caught up in political arguments about abortion, Christians should share the gospel and show compassion for women in a very fragile situation. Some misconceptions around Christians and the topic of abortion is they are over-judgmental and ignorant towards women’s rights.  A Door of Hope shows how the love of the gospel can be promoted through serving an area of need for women and valuing them.

  1. I haven’t heard of this ministry before, but I love the redemptive focus. I especially appreciate how they chose Delaware for their center of operations since it has such a high need. And it’s a great point about focusing on empathy and compassion in situations like these that are so stressful for the women.

  2. It sounds like this ministry is truly Gospel-centered and focused on serving and loving women in vulnerable situations. I agree that judgement is an inappropriate response for Christians and that this presents us with an opportunity to share God’s love with women who are hurting. I love that this organization is taking the opportunity to show support in an area of great need.
