Family promise is a nationwide organization that seeks to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence. Their heart lies in seeing people’s lives transform, as well as seeing those they help succeed in what they do. Much of their ministry consists of providing food, shelter, and support services for homeless people. What is astounding about their organization, though, is that they do not only help those that are currently in a season of homelessness get out of it. They are entirely dedicated to also providing advice and assistance to families that are at risk of losing their homes as well as their livelihood. In addition to immediate support, they educate those that they interact with about poverty, providing a means to combat it. Through this method this deep reaching redemptive organization is able to decrease those stuck in a cycle of poverty om the communities that they are a part of.
One of the most impressive things about the organization is the vast amount of opportunities that they have for anyone to get involved in their redemptive mission. On their ‘Get Involved’ page they offer nationwide opportunities to volunteer as an individual by preparing a meal, reading a story, or helping write resumes for those customers who are stuck without employment. One of the other possibilities is the opportunity to start an affiliate, or Family Promise center, in which they will help you mobilize resources and coordinate a community for maximum impact. In addition to these two, their are opportunities to donate, host an event, or even have your corporation be engaged in the redemptive work of the organization. Family Promise truly is a fantastic organization that has a deep-reaching redemptive impact all across the nation.
