Wegmans consistently rates among the best supermarket chains in the US as well as one of the best places to work. A large part of this reputation can be attributed to the core values of the company as well as how they incorporate their values into the business. The Wegmans family has made a point to weave their Christian values throughout every aspect of their business and ensure that the core beliefs are deeply held. These values include highlighting “the dignity of the human person”, a value that remains at the forefront despite the growth of Wegmans. The company considers its employees to be their most valuable asset and this is reflected in their treatment of workers. Employees receive competitive pay and benefits, including health care, dental care, prescription plans and retirement options. Wegmans has also stated that in their hiring process they do not look for skill alone, rather they look for individuals whose values align with that of the company. The desire to serve others and treat everyone with dignity and respect are just two examples of values that many companies could benefit from adopting. The success of Wegmans as a company is simply a testament to the importance of Christian values and implementing them wherever possible.

I’m from Rochester and live close to the Wegmans and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of their family before, and know plenty of people that work their and have all said fantastic things about it. I never knew they were a Christian based company, but their values certainly do have a redemptive impact on the community that I’ve seen first hand!
Wegman’s is pretty cool, although I’ve only been to a couple of their locations.
LOVE that they’ve focused on hiring people who fit the company culture. This is so important, and something that is often missed by other businesses.
And, I respect the family for sticking to their Christian values, and sowing them into the business.
Wow I had no clue that wegmens is founded and owned by a Christian value. I guess I do not really have one near me thought. Great to know thanks to you!
I love Wegmans and have always known about their great customer service, but never knew it stemmed from a Christian background. Thanks for sharing!!
