The Bible Project

The Bible Project

The way we communicate and understand information is constantly changing. With the increase in technology over the past few decades, we have seen this change drastically within a short timespan. The Bible Project team understands the shift to online, multi-media communication and recognizes its affects on people’s interactions with the Bible. Many people, especially younger generations, find it difficult to understand scripture or to find it relevant and relatable. Although this is sad, it is often a reality of our modern culture.

The Bible Project is a non-profit group that aims to present the entire Bible as “a unified story that leads to Jesus” in ways that encourage engagement and understanding. They do this by creating videos, podcasts, courses, and other Bible resources that communicate scripture in creative ways, while staying true to the holy Word of God. They do a great job of accurately summarizing books of the Bible and explaining complicated passages. They also have talented artists/designers on their team who create amazing animations that make stories to come to life. I have personally used The Bible Project resources and have seen them used in church services, youth group lessons, and even in my college courses! They are certainly not a substitute for the Bible, but they act as a great tool along side of scripture to foster deeper understanding.

This organization does a great job contextualizing the Bible for Christians (and even non-believers!) in today’s culture. If you have never been introduced to any of The Bible Project’s resources before, be sure to check them out… they are all free!

  1. Speaking from experience The Bible Project works. I myself have used it when working through scripture to better understand the complex topics it covers, but I have also introduced it to quite a few other people who love it as well. The way they tell the narrative is so engaging, and relevant. Another thing I love about their resources is they are so easily accessible, they are up to date on technological advancements and use platforms like YouTube to reach their target audience.

  2. When I was growing up, I never really saw the connections across the Bible. It took study, often of complex theology, the really see how interwoven and consistent it is. This project seems like a very worthwhile effort, if it will help people who otherwise wouldn’t see the miraculousness of the gospel.
