Seeds of Hope International is a missions organization that seeks to restore communities worldwide. Their goal is to prevent young people from drug addiction, sex trafficking, exploitative child labor, dropping out of school, and other common results of living in poverty. They also seek to equip young people with the skills they need to be successful, fruitful adults. Apart from supporting people in rising out of poverty, they also teach them the gospel and promote spiritual growth in these communities. Their purpose in serving these communities is to show unconditional love to people in need.
Seeds of Hope serves people in Costa Rica in the same way. Seeds of Hope is partnered with two other organizations in Costa Rica in order to better serve the communities in preventing human trafficking, drug addiction, and protecting children. They have created a sustainable missions model in Costa Rica, which they hope to replicate in other countries with little cost.
They started missions in Costa Rica by teaching classes to impoverished people. They teach spiritual growth, economic empowerment, and other unique educational opportunities. In Costa Rica, Seeds of Hope is partnered with government organizations, and they hope to partner with government organizations in other countries that they serve. By partnering with government organizations, they are able to have a bigger impact on changing laws in order to stop human trafficking.
Seeds of Hope began its missions by bringing teams to Costa Rica to show God’s love to the people in impoverished villages. While on a trip to Costa Rica in 2011, they were presented with the issue of human trafficking there. Penny Williams, the founder of Seeds of Hope, presented the idea of opening a safe house for survivors of human trafficking to a government organization. Their work in preventing human trafficking now reaches many countries.
Seeds of Hope show people the love of God by seeking to protect them from human trafficking, drug addiction, and other threats that surround poverty.
