No matter what you are starting, whether it is a new idea or venture, or task, there is always one beginning. You. You set the core values to whatever you are going to do. Therefore if you are the starting point for all ideas that means when you are talking on a Redemptive Business you must embody the Gospel within yourself first. What you have will be put into the business. If you are sound with the Lord and know his words and keep them in your heart, your business will reflect those attributes too. If you slack off and cheat and do not put in the effort to meet deadlines and goals, so will your business.
This can be seen within churches. The idea of a church literally is to suppose to be a gathering place of the people of God. But if the core of the church is not centered around God, then it is no longer an effective housing place of the Lord. “If one loses the focus, then one will lose their shirt.” This was said by one of my favorite professors at Grove City College. He is a marketing professor and was able to teach his students that one can be a Christian and a marketer at the same time.
Some people think it is deceiving to use tactics to grab people’s eyes towards a certain product. It is the same view towards entrepreneurs like we are only here to make as much money as possible. That is all wrong. While there are some individuals out there doing exactly those things, it is not because they are a marketer or an entrepreneur that makes them evil. It is their actions and their core values. The job titles are just labels of what they are doing. Whatever you set out to do, you make it what you are and what you put in.
It will be difficult, and it will not come easy but it is worth it in the end.
