Over 24,000 women are trafficked in the Chicagoland area, with limited care treatments, housing, and safe places for these women to go, a non-profit named Naomi’s House is ending that issue. NH is a 501c3 non-profit that “Provides a long term residential and therapeutic program for women who have survived commercial sexual exploitation” (DuPage County). NH works with licensed counselors and trauma-informed staff to be able to provide the necessary care to the women that come through their doors. NH partners with churches in the Chicagoland area such as Moody Church and College Church.
This organization is a great example of Entrepreneurship and the Mission of the Church because the people at Naomi’s House are using a Non-Profit to solve a tangible issue that causes pain and difficulty in someones life and partners with professionals and churches to create an individualized care plan to get these women back on their feet. A resident of Naomi’s house said this about her experience there,
“I’ve had friends that I knew loved me before, but Naomi’s House is the first place where I have experienced unconditional love” (Moody).
Naomi’s house is truly making a difference for the 24,000 women that are trafficked in Chicago. They understand that in order to bring these women to complete health they need to combine both spiritual practices and adequate, professional, mental-health care. They are changing lives one day at a time.
